Youngsters rock and bowl
Besides the District Youth Tournament, this is the only bowling competition that is aimed solely at inviting young bowlers from all over South Africa.
During the weekend of 28 and 29 April, the Krugersdorp Bowling Club saw a great many youngsters rocking and bowling as they participated in an U/35’s Singles Tournament.
Besides the District Youth Tournament, this is the only bowling competition that is aimed solely at inviting young bowlers from all over South Africa. According to Andy Selby, Krugersdorp Bowling Club President, it is exactly that which makes this tournament unique.
He was proud to be able to say that they have had players from Port Natal and the Cape Province, as well as some of the very best players from their own Sables district who participated in the tournament.
After two days of concentration, endurance and great sportsmanship, the finals were played on Sunday afternoon. The results were as follows:
• Plate Event Winner: Alexandra Hanegraaf
• Overall Winner: Jason Janse van Rensburg
• Second Place: Scott Blyth
• Third Place: Wayne Rittmyler
• Fourth Place: Ryan Smith
• Fifth Place: Jaryd Ramsden
• Sixth Place: Dylan Leader
Andy is proud of the number of youngsters who took an interest in this tournament and trusts that they will reach great heights with their talent in bowling.
