She did it to thank God

Jacqueline said that she wanted to win, to thank God for the abilities and opportunities that He had given her over the past eight years.

Jacqueline Groenewald decided to enter the European Championship Bodybuilding competition and to her surprise, won. After years of training, she won the Universe Pro Women World Championships in Toronto, Canada.

After achieving her dream of getting her pro card at the International Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (IBFF) Miss Universe competition in October 2018, she could officially compete in pro line-ups.

It did not take this determined woman long to also put that notch on her belt.

She explained that she worked hard to compete in the Universe Pro Women World Championships and when she got there, it was emotionally overwhelming.

She added that in preparing for the competition, she wanted the best outcome, because for eight years she had been competing and this was the ultimate level that she wanted to get to.

She said that standing up against girls that looked stunning to her, sometimes made her critique herself, but in the end it was all about what the judges were looking for.

She said she was pleased when she won the European Championships because then she knew she was on the right track with her physique and that gave her more confidence for the World Championships the next day.

Jacqueline had been preparing for this competition since October last year and trained for about four and a half hours a day, but other than that, she kept her eating habits the same.

We asked her what the next step for a Pro Women World Champion is, after achieving her life’s goal.

She said she wants to start hosting seminars about healthy living and is in the process of starting her own fitness line, which will hopefully be launched in August.

On 24 August, her company, Supreme Being Fitness, will be hosting the Fire and Ice Bodybuilding Show in Sandton. If you want to enter, you can visit the IBFF’s website at www.ibffafrica.co.za.

The IBFF is hosting an amateur and pro show, their first World Cup show on 7 September and Jacqueline plans to join in.
