New kickboxing club with a focus on self defense

The club has been in its new premises at the Noordheuwel Country Club for only a week now, but they've hit the ground running and already have multiple people who have joined up.

Kickboxing is often the number one go to martial arts form for anyone looking for a way to defend themselves. This notion of self defence is exactly what the Team Rage 3 Club means to place emphasis on with their weekly training.

Sensei Antoinette Visser and couch Jerome Obenholzer started the club because they felt they had so much they could teach to others, and knew they could do it in a different way than others do. With this in mind, they hope to take on as many students as possible and teach them their unique brand of kickboxing and self defence.

“We’re busy with an anti-bullying programme where we teach school children not to fight, but to defend themselves, and how to react in a bullying situation. We also teach them confidence and patience,” Antoinette said. But, this club isn’t just meant for children. It’s open to virtually everyone, although they also try to focus on teaching women how to defend themselves in most situations.

The club has been in its new premises at the Noordheuwel Country Club for only a week, but they’ve hit the ground running and already have multiple people who have joined up.

On the night of Wednesday, 31 July, brothers Jean and Ruan Venter were sparring with the Sensei, while checking out the club and deciding whether they wanted to join. By the end of the one-hour session, it looked like their minds were made up, and the club would see them within the next week.
