Trail Run: Defending champ sets sights on a hat-trick win

Teboho Noosi will be aiming for a hat-trick victory at the 8th annual Fedhealth Platinum Trail Run.

Lesotho-based runner, Teboho Noosi has set his sights on a hat-trick victory at the 8th annual Fedhealth Platinum Trail Run that will take place on Sunday, August 29.

Encompassing the best trail-running routes on offer in the North West province, the Fedhealth Platinum Trail Run will take place in the might of the Magaliesberg and the majestic Buffelspoort Dam.

Teboho made a clear statement by claiming gold in 2018 (in the Long Route / +-24km), the same year that he made his Fedhealth Platinum Trail Run debut. He then went on to successfully defend his title in 2019. In 2020 the event was cancelled due to the pandemic.

“I really enjoy the Fedhealth Platinum Trail Run,” said Teboho.

“It helps me to prepare and build strength for upcoming races. In 2019 I placed 9th in the Golden Trail Series 32km race in Switzerland after my win at the Fedhealth Platinum Trail Run. The route is challenging and gets really hard after the first 7km, but that can be overcome when one has a perfect race plan.

“My goal at the 2021 event is to defend my title, while improving my previous time. I would definitely recommend the Fedhealth Platinum Trail Run to other runners. It’s a challenging race that helps one build muscle and strength. My advice is to listen to your body. Focus on how it responds to the challenge and then execute your race plan.”

The men’s race will be hotly contested with Givemore Mudzinganyama and Thabang Madiba ready to challenge for the top spot on the podium.
