Rage Kickboxing Club did Krugersdorp proud at the South African Championships recently.
Five fighters from the Rage Kickboxing Club recently competed at the South African Championships where they dominated the podium.
Liam Marx, Alex Retief, PJ Brits, Fred Lourens, and NJ Lourens travelled to Lephalale in Ellisras from April 28 to 30 and participated in the categories namely point fighting, light continuous as well as kick light.

Liam, the youngest of the fighters at only seven years old, came third in the light continuous category, fourth in points fighting, and fourth in kick light. The 15-year-old Alex finished second in kick light and fourth in light continuous. NJ who is 13 years old finished fourth in light continuous and second in kick light.

The 31-year-old PJ Brits took the third-place podium for kick light. While Sensei Fred Lourens finished third for point fighting and second for light continuous.
Lourens told the News that there were over 550 fighters at the tournament and for the size of their club and the amount of fighters they could take, they did extremely well. Their next fight is in May when they are entering as the West Gauteng team at the Great North tournament in Sedibeng.
He added that one of their fighters, the 14-year-old Lindsey Henning, could unfortunately not join them at the SA Championships after she suffered a fracture in her foot, but he believes she too would have dominated. She will be taking part in the Great North tournament.
The team also recently re-branded and boasts new clothes and gear. Lourens thus wanted to thank all their supporters and donors for their donations and patience. He added that they will continue to ensure their fighters are some of South Africa’s best.
