Darryn Binder ‘disappointed’ at Thai GP but hopeful for Argentina

Darryn Binder expresses his disappointment due to his first jump-start penalty in a World Championship at the Grand Prix of Thailand for the MotoGP2.

Krugersdorp not only has one international motorcycling racing superstar competing at the highest level but two.

With Brad Binder competing in the MotoGP, younger brother Darryn races for team Italjet Gresini Racing and competes in MotoGP2.

Just like brother Brad, Darryn was in action this past weekend at the Chang International Circuit, where he placed 17th.

However, Darryn expressed on Gresini Racing’s official website his disappointment and said that it was his first jump-start penalty in the World Championship and in his life.

“Unfortunately, that ruined the whole race. I enjoyed the first couple of laps and riding in front was nice, but I did the double long lap. I rejoined the race in the back and as soon as the front tyre got hot, I was riding just to finish, as I didn’t have the right feeling with the front. Anyway, onto the next one.

We’ll take the positive and try again in Argentina,” he concluded.

Darryn will race again in the MotoGP2 in Argentina from March 14 to 16.
