Nories’ Blues stun Wit Bulle in thrilling derby

VIDEO: Noordheuwel is in ecstasy as the Nories’ Blues (first rugby team) celebrate a convincing win against Monnas’ Wit Bulle in a classic Krugersdorp derby.

Hoërskool Noordheuwel learners and supporters couldn’t contain their excitement after their team dominated Monnas’ Wit Bulle with a score of 43–27 in an epic Krugersdorp derby on Saturday, 24 May.

The Blues, affectionately known as Nories’ first rugby team, started strong, leading 23–9 by half-time.

This left the Wit Bulle with a daunting task ahead. True to their fighting spirit, however, they refused to back down, scoring several tries in a valiant comeback attempt. The match was played with intensity, as both sides showed unwavering determination.

But it wasn’t to be. As one of the Blues players remarked after the match, ‘Krugersdorp is now blue’.

At the final whistle, Blues supporters – a sea of parents and fellow learners – rushed onto the field in pure jubilation, as Noordheuwel basked in the bragging rights until their next encounter.
