Golfers swing into action to bring hope to vulnerable families
Golfers teed off for a good cause as The Cradle of Hope Charity Golf Day delivered a day of friendly competition, valuable networking and community impact.
The Cradle of Hope Charity Golf Day once again proved to be a standout event on their fundraising calendar as golfers, sponsors and supporters gathered at Ruimsig Country Club on Thursday, July 30.
The annual event attracted 100 golfers and 13 sponsors, all united by a common goal of supporting The Cradle of Hope’s work with vulnerable children, women and families. As one of the organisation’s flagship fundraising initiatives, the golf day continues to grow in both participation and community support.
From the first tee to the final putt, players enjoyed a professionally organised day on the picturesque course. Each sponsored hole offered its own unique experience through interactive activations, refreshments and competitions, creating an enjoyable atmosphere while giving sponsors valuable exposure throughout the day.
One of the most anticipated attractions was the R100 000 hole-in-one challenge, which had golfers eagerly testing their skills. Although several players came close, the prize remained unclaimed, adding to the excitement for future tournaments.
The event concluded with a prize-giving ceremony and charity auction, where players celebrated the day’s top performances and guests enthusiastically bid on generously donated items. The auction contributed significantly to the fundraising efforts while providing an entertaining finish to a successful day.
Janine Masters, who does the marketing, fundraising and PR of The Cradle of Hope, thanked everyone who contributed to making the event a success.
“The incredible support from our golfers, sponsors and volunteers made this one of our most successful golf days yet. It’s inspiring to see so many people come together for a great day while making a real difference,” she said.
