Day 1 highlights: Best of the West kicks off in style

Excitement filled the courts as the Best of the West High School Netball Festival got off to a thrilling start, with early results offering a glimpse of what promises to be a competitive tournament.

The Best of the West High School Netball Festival got off to an energetic start as teams took to the courts for the opening matches of the much-anticipated tournament.

According to festival director and KHS U14A coach Cassandra Bergé, the first day was filled with excitement as players competed in their first matches of the season.

People are excited for the first games of the season when the first whistles blow,” she said.

She added that many players are still in the trial phase, motivating them to give their best as they compete for places in their teams.

The first U14 results included:

* Alma Mater 10–AGPS 1
* Crawford Lonehill 7–St Teresa’s 8
* Midstream 4–KHS 1
* Norkem Park 5–Crawford Ruimsig 6

The matches taught the players a lot for the upcoming season,” she said.
