This past weekend a number of events left some residents of Krugersdorp in utter misery.

The events range from the death of a homeless person, to countless vehicle thefts, to a family left destitute after their house completely burned down.

There is no doubt that these events can leave one feeling depressed and despondent.

So why is it that some people have the ability to remain positive, even in the face of disaster?

Is it merely a coping mechanism? What do you think?

Yes, we can replace our stolen or destroyed possessions, but how can one replace precious time that was lost?

Maybe we should just cherish what we have – as simple as that.
