Did you know that Krugersdorp has a great heritage?

You might have celebrated Heritage Day only with a braai (since it was also National Braai Day), while some observed Heritage Day the way it was intended.

Krugersdorp’s history dates back to the prehistoric period of the Australopithecus and the Stone and Iron Age communities of the present Krugersdorp region.

The Krugersdorp Museum displays a number of exhibits that portray life in the area in the early settler days.

A part of the dorp’s heritage is reflected by the graves in the Burgershoop Cemetery of the women and children who succumbed in the concentration camps during the Anglo-Boer War.

Our town has a solid and stable foundation thanks to the founding fathers and it is our duty to protect its rich heritage.

Happy Heritage Month, Krugersdorp.
