The letter Ladies, make a little effort which was published on our letter’s page, both in the newspaper and on our website, created quite a stir.
Numerous comments and responses were written by women of all shapes and sizes.
Some expressed their concern toward the writer saying that a woman does not need make-up to look and feel beautiful, while others said that a beautiful woman is someone who has God in her heart.
What I interpreted from the letter was that women should be more responsible when it comes to personal hygiene.
When we were children, who did most of the cleaning in general? Who dressed our wounds, cleaned up after our messes and made sure we wear clean underwear?
Yet, when a mother forgets to brush her hair because she was in a hurry, or decides to wear something two days in a row, she is frowned upon. Why is that?
Perhaps giving a woman some credit where it is due might just give her the confidence boost she needs.
A radiant woman is more beautiful than anything else.
We should all make a little effort, don’t you think?
