Lover assaults his pregnant girlfriend
The suspect started to accuse his girlfriend of stealing money from him and then allegedly assaulted her.
The police in Kagiso have arrested a 42-year-old suspect in central Kagiso for allegedly assaulting his pregnant girlfriend.
Police spokesperson Solomon Sibiya of the Kagiso Police says the complainant, who is about six months pregnant, allegedly was at her boyfriend’s home. When she wanted to go home an argument ensued .
“She asked her boyfriend to take her to her home in Bram Fischerville in Roodepoort, but instead the suspect started to accuse her of stealing money from him.”
Sibiya says her boyfriend assaulted her with open hands.
“The matter was reported to the police who searched and eventually arrested the suspect.”
The suspect was detained at the Kagiso Police Station where a case docket was opened.
He has made a brief appearance in the Kagiso Magistrates’ Court facing common assault charges.
