I want to wish you a Merry Christmas!

I cannot believe Christmas is literally only a few days away.

As we are winding things down here at the News, I want to take this opportunity to wish all our loyal and trusted readers a very blessed festive season.

If you are travelling to a holiday destination, stay safe. If you are staying home, then I hope you find some serenity.

This time of year usually means we reflect on the year that was, and boy, was it a tough one!

We had a lot of ups and downs in Krugersdorp. The downs probably outweighed the ups but strangely enough, I think everyone appreciated the outcome in the end.

Many also lost loved ones this year, some in very gruesome ways. May God hold your hand tightly as you continue your journey through recovery.

Others will be facing a Christmas filled with regret and sorrow … some even in financial despair.

No matter what your situation may look like, and no matter how bad you think it is, always remember that there is someone out there going through the same thing, maybe even worse, and wishing for something better.

May we all find comfort in this time. I truly hope that the joy of Christmas washes over you and your family.

To my journalists, Bianca and Nadine, and my cadet Portia, have a cheerful Noël, girls! You are the lights that make the News a shining beacon within this community. Thank you for all the hard work you have put in so far. I am looking forward to a news-filled new year.

Although we are taking a bit of a break, we are still here this holiday season. Give us a shout if you have some news to share. Pop us an email at krugersdorpnews@caxton.co.za with your details or leave a message on our Facebook page.

That’s it from our side … see you in 2017, Krugersdorp, and take care.

At Caxton, we employ humans to generate daily fresh news, not AI intervention. Happy reading!
