Melville Koppies Hike
9 FEBRUARY — Join in on a 8,5km hike (takes three hours) across Melville Koppies. Learn about who used to live there while you enjoy the peace, and be surprised by the ways in which animals and plants interact. Hikers should be reasonably fit. Hike sets off at 8.30am sharp. Adults pay R80 and children R40. Funds go towards the ongoing maintenance and upkeep of the Koppies. Details: https://www.mk.org.za or call 011 482 4797.
Cedar Tree Craft Market
9 FEBRUARY — Visit the Cedar Tree Craft Market from 10am to 3pm at the Khosa Sports Club grounds in Kenmare, and buy a special gift for Valentine’s Day. Secure parking is available and there is no entrance fee. It is also a pet-friendly market. There will be live music.

Anti-Valentine’s Day Celebration

12 FEBRUARY — The owners of Infinity Tea Garden on Viljoen Street, Krugersdorp North, and Two Balloons and a Van Event Planning and Decor will be serving a special dinner on Wednesday, 12 February to give residents an event where they can have fun together. Known as Singles Day or National Singles Day in countries such as China, the UK and the US, the fun holiday is commemorated at different times of the year, depending on the country. All these events honour the individuality and value of people, regardless of their relationship or marital status.
