Candy Benson finds inspiration with Daniel Baron for new single
The local singer is excited to show South Africa a different side to her with this track.
Local singing sensation, Candy Benson has fast been making a name for herself in the local pop music space.
The Krugersdorp native is responsible for the hit singles With You, Flirtatious, Sonder Jou, Dit Wat Ons Harte Deel and Vat Die Kans. Now she’s showing the world a different side after teaming up with Daniel Baron on her new English single, Where U Wanna Go.

On the new single Candy steps out of her comfort zone and explores uncharted territory for her. She releases an easy-listening pop-dance tune with a fresh South African flavour. Candy has been inspired by the Amapiano genre that has taken the local music scene by storm; however, she has put her own twist on it to create a sound that is unique, fresh and proudly South African.
Cool, floating electric pianos and grooving beats set the scene for a mid-summer’s jam about meeting someone new and falling in love. Candy knew the song needed a male perspective to elevate the message and feeling the song exudes, and having worked with Daniel in the past, she knew he would be the perfect addition to the song.

“It’s always a pleasure working with such an amazing singer/ songwriter like Daniel,” Candy explained. “We always have a lot of fun in the studio and we both get super excited about creating and shaping each work of art. This collaboration was no exception.”
She added that, “Where U Wanna Go is a fun, sexy, vibey feel-good song and I hope it makes people feel like having a good time, or that it just brightens up their day”.
Candy is excited to show South Africa a different side to her with this track. Always wanting to push boundaries and be ahead of the curve, Candy continues to make music in a variety of genres and languages – something that certainly sets her apart.
