Residents revel at West Rand Carnival

The warm air, dusty grounds and aroma of deep-fried mini-doughnuts enhanced the carnival atmosphere.

People came from far and wide to be entertained at the West Rand Carnival hosted at the Ruimsig Stadium from September 8 to 11.

The warm air, dusty grounds and aroma of deep-fried mini-doughnuts enhanced the carnival atmosphere. Children on the rides were cheering and screaming, and stalls of various shapes and sizes were scattered across the field, with vendors encouraging passers-by to sample their wares.

This four-day event aimed to entertain all ages by offering camel and mechanical bull rides, chip sticks, non-alcoholic and alcoholic slushies, biltong, burgers, bubble tea and so much more.

Nicholis Louw, Dirk van der Westhuizen and Eloff were among the artists who performed on stage and kept the audience entertained throughout the event.
