Girl scouts receive exciting visit

The Girl Guides not only ended the term with a fun visit from the West Rand Emergency Services but also went camping during the school holidays.

The Brownies girl scouts recently had a very exciting meeting and a special visit from the West Rand Emergency Services.

During the meeting one of their Brownies achieved her level three badge while four others received the highest award a Brownie can earn – the Golden Hand badge.

“The team from the West Rand Emergency Services gave a thrilling, interactive presentation to the girls, who came away from the event a lot wiser on how to prevent fires and what to do and what not do if a fire breaks out.

Thanks to The Friends of Emergency Services, Dale Mac Rae for organising this memorable occasion, in conjunction with St Ursula’s School and Mary Weldon, the 1st Krugersdorp Brownie Pack Adult Leader.”

The term’s fun did not only end with this fun afternoon as they went camping with the 1st Krugersdorp Girl Guides during the school holidays. They also took part in a special ‘link-up’ ceremony to send them on their Girl Guide adventures.
