Kagiso water supply remains affected after maintenance
The municipality says Kagiso’s water supply remains under pressure following recent maintenance, with technicians investigating reduced inflow and water tankers assisting affected areas.
The water supply in Kagiso remains affected following recent maintenance by Eskom and Rand Water, with Mogale City Local Municipality (MCLM) providing an update on July 27.
According to MCLM assistant manager for media and PR, Refilwe Mahlangu, the system is recovering; however, a reduced water supply from the bulk supplier, along with increased consumption, continues to affect water availability in Kagiso.

“The reservoir level is critically low, with demand currently higher than the available supply. Rand Water has deployed technicians to investigate the reasons for the reduced inflow, while the Kagiso Reservoir outlet has also been throttled to allow capacity to build up,” she said.
Mahlangu said water tankers have been deployed to affected areas while restoration efforts continue.
“While restoration is in progress, we ask residents to use water sparingly where there is an available supply,” she concluded.
