Hiking clubs enjoy 25km fun walk at Rakona Sport Ground

Local hiking enthusiast, Floyd Sekhwela from Ga-Mogoboya village outside Tzaneen hosted the third annual 25 km fun walk on Saturday.

This 25km walk was joined by hikers from Bakgaga Hiking Team, Tzaneen Hiking Club, and Maruleng Hiking Club.

“The event was a success, we managed to do it as it was planned. We started to walk at 06:45 in the morning both adults and children used the same route from Tlhabine GaRakoma at Rakoma Sport ground going through Mojeteng, Lenyenye, Khutjwane, Topanama, Lephepane, Rasebalane and came back again to RaKoma Sport Ground,” said organiser, Sekhwela.

“Refreshments were served along the way as people were walking. We managed to host more than 70 participants, as we had adults and children enjoying the hike. One man from Lephepane joined us on the route at Marakeng, Lephepane. After the event we enjoyed a meal and juices and cold drinks. The event was a success,” said Sekhwela.
