Hoedies enjoy Wildlife Estate Series

Trail runners in Hoedspruit and surroundings took part in the 2021 Pam Golding Wildlife Estate Series on Saturday, 17 April.

The race took place at the Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate and about 207 runners participated.

The child-friendly race aims to build a trail-running community in Hoedspruit and surroundings.

The race affords trail enthusiasts an opportunity to enjoy the company of African fauna whilst walking or running and keeping fit.

Organiser Belinda Barkas told Herald that they ensured that everyone adhered to Covid-19 regulations.

“We ensured that a separate Covid station was placed a fair distance away from the late registration and number collection tables, we had sanitisers and the relevant South African Association of Mountain Endurance Sports (SAAMES) screening questionnaire was completed,” she said.

It was a fun day out for the whole family and children of all ages were part of the race.

This race will be followed by the Zandspruit Estate race on 12 June and the Blyde Wildlife Estate race on 14 August.

The Pam Golding Wildlife Estate Series is presented by Lowveld Trail Running.

Trail runners can choose from three categories: 5km, 10km and 20km.
