Small Enterprise Development Agency (SEDA) held a women’s seminar at Karibu Leisure Resort to celebrate women’ s month on Friday. The seminar targeted women all over the Tzaneen area to come and celebrate their worth and be motivated. At the same time powerful, successful businesswomen around Tzaneen came and shared their successes with women who wish to be successful like them.
The likes of Clive Mashele, Nyeleti Mushwana, Dikeledi Mmetle and Nkakareng Rakgwale were among those who took the stand and motivated the women, young and old on how to be firm and know what you want in life.
“We have called you here to celebrate your month, you create jobs, eliminate poverty and you help the economy. During the day you have to work and when you get home you change your cap and become a mother and a wife. We don’t only want to celebrate with you, we want to empower you so that you don’t stop doing what you are doing, you are touching lives and your work doesn’t go unrecognized” said Happy Mohlala, SEDA’s provincial marketing specialist.
SEDA national office officials were also at the seminar. Business which were assisted by SEDA in the past and some still assisted by SEDA were invited to attend. All four district municipalities in Limpopo province were represented by atleast one company and all stories told by the businesses were success.
Companies like Land Bank, SARS, Old Mutual were also called in to enlighten women on where to go when they implement businesses and the right procedures to follow to ensure that the business becomes a success. Department of Health was also at the seminar to test women on various health hazards such as sugar diabetes, high blood pressure and cholesterol.
The day was a huge success followed by a gala dinner where the Mopani District Municipality Mayor Nkakareng Rakgwale and Greater Tzaneen Municipality Mayor Dikeledi Mmetle, together with their councilors, were present to empower women.
