GTM agri expo a success

Greater Tzaneen Municipality held the Limpopo Agricultural Expo at the Letaba Show Ground on August 26-28. This is the very first time Tzaneen has held an Agricultural Expo and judging by the fact that it was the first time held it was a very huge success.

The Greater Tzaneen Municipality in partnership with Moshate Media made the expo a success. there were however other local based sponsors namely SEDA, GTEDA, Agri Letaba and Tzaneen Chamber of Commerce who were involved in making sure that the day was a success.

“The event was a great success at it exposed our small scale/emerging farmers and forging linkages or business relations in respect of: Technology, Breeding and farming techniques, Machinery and equipments, Financial assistance. Most importantly they were given the opportunity to get information through attending workshops which were run hourly by different facilitators for different sectors of business (education, finance, gov etc.).

The expo had all the relevant exposure any farmer may require. The estimated total attendance is 1800 for the duration of the summit. “We had a target of 3000 and looking forward to exceed that next year and escalating in the upcoming years” said Mokgadi Nkoana, GTM senior economic development officer. The council wish to have the event annually, hosted by the Greater Tzaneen Municipality.
