The Executive Mayor of Mopani District Municipality, Nkakareng Rakgoale has appointed members of the mayoral committee.
The newly appointed members were inaugurated during a special council meeting held at the Disaster Management Centre in Tzaneen last Wednesday. In line with the provisions of the Municipal Structures Act, the former mayoral committee ceased to function when the former Executive Mayor, Joshua Matlou resigned.
The following councilors are in the new committee: Sizwe Ramaremela was retained as the head of governance and administration portfolio; Magdeline Makhurupetji-Malatji replaced Magdelin Lewele as the head of finance; Conny Nkuna retained as head of agriculture; Maria Sibiya appointed as head of the new community services portfolio; Hellen Moshobane has been moved from health and social development to replace Norman Machete as head of infrastructure; Dunanni Ndove takes over as head of water services replacing Gladys Manganyi who has been appointed a parliamentary officer for the provincial Department of Co-operative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs; Reginald Mametja replaced Masilo Maloko as head of Planning and Development; Isiah Baloyi replaced Caroline Hlatswayo as head of roads and transport. Hlatswayo has been moved to sports and recreation replacing Aubrey Ngobeni.
