Police in Bolobedu, Modjadji Plaza management and residents of Ga-Kgapane celebrated women’s month in style on Saturday.
They participated in soccer, netball and fun walks at Kgapane Stadium . The idea was to empower women and also encourage them to take sports as a hobby because it helps to stay healthy. Four high schools in the area also attended the event and took part in the games played.
“We just want these people to know that we care, we may not have much to give but the little that we have we will give” said Stephanie Ras, Modjadji Plaza centre manager.
The day was a huge success where grannies, women and young girls played. It wasn’t about winning or losing, it was about women interacting with each other and knowing their worth. After all the games everyone was awarded a medal and the winning team received a trophy.
