ANC restructures PMT’s in Mopani

The African National Congress in Mopani restructured the political management teams of three municipalities in the district last week .

THE African National Congress in Mopani restructured the political management teams of three municipalities in the district last week .

An effort to enhance service delivery by the ruling party saw several executive councilors, speakers and chief whips in Greater Tzaneen, Maruleng and Ba-Phalaborwa Municipalities being redeployed, while others were reduced to ordinary councilors in their respective municipal councils. In Tzaneen, Councillor Cassius Machimane replaced Percy Machete as the speaker whilst Maripe Mangena took over from Napoleon Mboweni as the chief whip. Mboweni has been redeployed as the head of finance portfolio committee while Machete has been reduced to a back bencher.

Councillor Maggie Makwala took over from Morepiwa Mokgomole as head of sport whilst Letty Hlangwani replaced Sevengwana Nkuna as the head of health and social welfare.

Councillor Moses Mahasha was appointed full-time head of governance, in the place of Richard Shigange, who is now ordinary member of the council whilst Edney Ntimbane has been appointed the head of special projects in the office of the mayor.

Councillor Lucy Ncha was appointed full-time head of planning and economic development whilst Puku Sekgotodi has been retained as the head of public transport, safety and security.

Councillor Khazamula Nukeri replaced Stranger Mbhalati as the chairperson of the Municipal Public Account Committee.

In Maruleng municipal council, Councillor Clara Magoro replaced Blantina Raganya as the new speaker whilst Mmoledi Mongadi took over from Petrus Mashumu as the chief whip. Raganya and Mashumu have been reduced to ordinary councilors.

Bergan Ratshatsi is the new head of spatial planning and economic development whilst Makwa Malapani is the new chairperson of Municipal Public Account Committee.

Meanwhile, in Ba-Phalaborwa Municipal Council, Councilor Percy Maphanzela was replaced by Ishmael Mpenyane as the Chairperson of Finance Committee, Percy Mhlari by Thompson Nkuna (Community and Social services), Didodo Rapatsa by Alina Peta (Corporate Service) and Meriam Malatjie replaced Sophia Mahomane as the Chairperson of Technical services.
