CHOICE Trust had a Quiz Event at Mogoboya Primary School on October 1, where 10 Grade 6 pupils – 5 from each of the Mogoboya and Mmaphai Schools, entered a reading, writing and impromptu speech competition.
The purpose of the competition was to encourage learners to enjoy their schooling, with special focus on improving their language and building their self esteem.
The event was also attended by teachers from both schools who acted as adjudicators to allow a fair process, and 41 children attended to encourage their schools’ competitors.
The first stage of the competition was reading where all 10 pupils participated. Four were eliminated and the remaining 6 entered into a writing competition.
The top 3 pupils then entered an impromptu speech competition. Choice Trust, through the funding from Kindernothilfe (KNH), awarded 3 pupils with vouchers: the first position was Tracy Lemao from Mogoboya Primary, second was Ntopa Modiba from Mmaphai and third place was awarded to Mamokwena Leseilane from Mogoboya.
Choice Trust OVC Team Leaders, Mrs. Nelly Munduku expressed appreciation to the teachers who supported to the Quiz event, and all learners were encouraged to continue schooling at this stage of life.
The children’s programme at Choice Trust provides educational assistance and promotion of reading through schools.
