Mother and sister killed by ex-boyfriend
A 35 year old man was arrested after he brutally killed two people at Mapitlula Village in the Bolobedu South outside Tzaneen on Friday.
It is alleged that the suspect went to his ex-girlfriend’s home to visit her and upon arrival when he did not find her, he started attacking the family he stabbed the ex-girlfriend’s younger sister to death. He went on stabbing the mother who was certified dead on arrival at Van Velden hospital. The deceased were identified as Modjadji California Malatji aged 30 and Mangwako Helena Malatji ages 71.
“The suspect ran away and disappeared immediately after the brutal killings but we followed him until he was arrested during the day on Saturday. It was found out that he was released on bail during August this year
after he was arrested for a murder incident which took place at Marirone Village, a nearby village some months back” said Lieutenant Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe, Tzaneen Cluster communication officer.
He will appear before the Bolobedu Magistrate Court soon on two counts of murder. Police investigations are continuing.
