Robbers shot and arrested in Giyani

Two suspected robbers were shot and wounded yesterday in Giyani.

According to police spokesperson, Colonel Ronel Otto, police received a tip-off about a robbery at a cash loan business.

It is alleged when they got to the scene they found four armed men aged between 28, 30, 36 and 40.

Otto said shooting started when the police tried to arrest the suspects.

“The police managed to arrest the four and two of them were shot, one on the right thigh and the other on the right arm, they are in a stable condition , under police guard at Nkhensani Hospital,” she said.

She added that two pistols with 18 ammunition rounds and some cables ties were recovered and seized.

The other two suspects are inĀ  police cells and investigations continues.
