UPDATE: Tension is rising at Pekoe View

There are disputes between the management of Pekoe View Tea Garden and the management of the Sapekoe View Tea Estate.

Gideon Breedt, the owner of Pekoe View Tea Garden, has spoken to Letaba Herald.

In a letter, Breedt told the Herald that he decided to close Pekoe View Tea Garden with immediate effect.

“Pekoe View is running at a loss due to the current in-house tensions between the land owners as well as the continued disruption concerning lack of water and power outages due to poor maintenance on behalf of the estate,” said Breedt.

Furthermore, Breedt said that there is also a lack of road maintenance, which is deterring visitors.

Tennants are also claiming that management is collecting rent money but they are not looking after the tenants on the Estate.

Breedt has said that he is open to discuss a re-opening of the Tea Garden but only on his own terms.

He would also like to thank all his loyal supporters.
