GEORGES VALLEY: Oxygen tanker overturned

The driver of an oxygen tanker overturned his truck on the Georges Valley road Thursday night. A witness that would like to stay anonymous recalls the accident and described it as very hectic.

The witness was on her way home when she passed the accident scene and noticed there were no emergency services to be seen.

Because she knew how dangerous the tanker can be, she thought to call emergency services when she is at a safe distance from the scene.

She was about to leave when she saw the driver of the tanker on the side of the road, signalling for help.

The driver was taken to the police station and an ambulance was called to check on him.

On the way to the police station the witness asked the driver what he was doing on the Georges Valley road but he did not answer her.

No one sustained any serious injuries and emergency services handled the situation with utmost care according to the witness.

A Social media post alerted the community about the accident last night as the scene was dangerous.

According to another post, most of the Oxygen was dumped by this morning, and the road should be ‘open’.
