TZANEEN: Concerning reservoir leakage ‘under control’

Tzaneeners were concerned and a little upset when a thousand liters of water came flowing down Boundary Street early this morning.

After residents gathered to pray for rain on the dam wall yesterday afternoon, the water that was obviously coming from one of the municipal reservoirs in Boundary Street seemed very wasteful.

According to Neville Ndlala, media spokesperson of the Greater Tzaneen Municipality,’The reservoir overflowed after a valve was found faulty.’

“We closed the water pipe that is coming from the water purification site that feeds the reservoir. The application to buy a new valve must be approved by supply management and we are attending to the problem, ‘ Ndlala told the Herald.

He urges residents, should they be aware of any faulty or emergency services that need the attention of the Municipality, to phone the call center immediately on: 082 679 0720 or 082 679 0794 or 015 307 4356/2567/8190
