LETSITELE: Mulati celebrates “My Library Your Library”

"It is our own responsibility as librarians and teachers to make sure that the children gain knowledge," said Rameetse.

South Africa celebrates Library Week every year and this year the theme was “My Library Your Library”.

This year’s Library week was from March 18-26.

Mulati Library, outside Letsitele invited children from different schools and Crèches to the library to create their own “Kommando Wurm”, a type of worm that vandalised crops late last year.

The community of Mulati was also affected by “Kommando Wurm” after heavy rains.

Refreshments were given to each child after the session. Librarian, Mike Rameetse, said the celebration was educational and children had fun.

He further emphasised that Mulati is an advantaged community.

“It is our own responsibility as librarians and teachers to make sure that the children gain knowledge,” said Rameetse.

The children enjoyed the visit to the library.
