GIYANI: Business robbed at gunpoint, bakkie hijacked

The Police in Giyani have arrested two suspects aged 28 and 33 after committing a business robbery and carjacking at a hardware shop in Nkuri village outside Giyani.

The Police in Giyani have arrested two suspects aged 28 and 33 after committing a business robbery and carjacking at a hardware shop in Nkuri village outside Giyani.

It is alleged that four unknown suspects driving a red Toyota corolla arrived at the shop,  held shoppers at gunpoint and robbed them of an undisclosed amount of money, three cellphones, the hardware owner’s bakkie and drove off to a nearby village.

The Police were summoned and reacted swiftly. A police search led to the arrest two of the suspects.

The remaining two suspects are still at large but the manhunt is still unfolding.

The suspects will appear before the Giyani Magistrate Court soon.

Police investigations are still continuing.
