It was further alleged that the landlines at the station are down and anyone trying to reach the police failed.

The Hoedspruit community has been struggling to contact the police when in distress following the theft of the cellphone which was the link between them and the police.

“A case has been logged and the necessary investigations are still underway with regards to the cellphone which was stolen from the charge office.  At this point in time we cannot tell if the cellphone was stolen by a community member or a police officer”, stated the Hoedspruit police spokesperson, Sergeant Livhuwani Mulaudzi.

It was further alleged that the landlines at the station are down and anyone trying to reach the police failed.

“The Hoedspruit police landline is working and anyone seeking help can contact the Hoedspruit police station on 015 799 4065”, concluded Mulaudzi.
