GALLERY: Annual Tavern Tour hits Nkowankowa

Being plunged into complete darkness during a power outage at one the taverns did not stop the party, instead it stoked the coals and set the atmosphere on fire.

“…And united we will stand…”

The annual Tavern Tour, an initiative by the Tzaneen Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with SAB, took place yesterday evening and it did not disappoint.

Tour goers visited four taverns in Nkowankowa; W&R, van Rooyen’s, Chokes and Bona Pub.

The purpose is to build bridges between our communities and to expose Tzaneen residents to the treasures in our neighbouring villages.

One of the unexpected highlights of the evening was when a power outage occurred. Being plunged into complete darkness did not stop the party, instead it stoked the coals and set the atmosphere on fire. Everyone erupted into a chant of ‘Shosholoza’ followed by a powerful ‘Nkosi Sekelel’ iAfrika’.

Full story of all the highlights in next week’s paper.
