She was a South African artist, designer and businesswoman with a globally recognised brand.

Celebrated South African artist, designer, and businesswoman Carrol Boyes (65) passed away on Wednesday night after a brief illness, her company spokesperson confirmed.

She founded Carrol Boyes (Pty) Ltd in 1991, in the Letsitele area.

She combined her artistic flair and talent in sculpture with her jewellery experience to create an extensive range of distinctive homeware, giftware, flatware and tabletop products.

She began her career as an English teacher before becoming involved in the arts.
