Shik Shack Backpackers is always looking for new ways to make their tourism impact and footprint innovative

Using recyclables as a resource is one of the core ethos of Shik Shack Backpackers, a funky community lodge based at the Nourish Eco village.

This is clear in their communal lounge which is made totally of ECO BRICK plastic bottle, recycling tons and tons of scrap plastic which would otherwise have wound up in the dumpsite in Acornhoek or in dumpsites throughout the smaller villages where there is little to no support for waste removal.

The most recently added space was the addition of the Shik Shack ‘Shebeen’ with full liquor license.
