Art flows in Mandy’s veins

His passion for painting was inspired by his late father, Vheya Rhexson Mathonsi who was also an artist.

Artist Mandy Mathonsi originally hails from Giyani but is now based in Lulekani.

He says his passion for painting was inspired by his late father, Vheya Rhexson Mathonsi who was also an artist.

At the age of nine, he started to follow in his father’s footsteps.

He told the Herald that after the passing of his father he started taking art seriously in honour of him and started Vheya Arts and Crafts.

His workshop is in Lulekani at 1169 B near Shoprite. He hopes to grow his craft and to leave a legacy by teaching people how to paint.
