Correctional Services donate clothing for children

Tzaneen Community Correctional Services donated 29 winter jackets to the children at Shilubana Healthcare Centre recently.

According to Polokwane Correctional Services spokesman, Sachiel Nemafhohoni, the donation was initiated by the women from the Tzaneen Community Correctional facility to celebrate the end of Women’s Month. The women looked for donations and their dream came true when a good Samaritan supported their initiative.

At the handover, Anna Shobane, head of Community Corrections in Tzaneen, gave the mothers in attendance insights into the role the facility plays in rehabilitating offending behaviour.
She asked them not to tolerate abuse as it may eventually lead to retaliation, and they would end up as the culprits instead of the victims. Sgt Modjadji Patjie from Maake Police Station also addressed the mothers on the privilege of having children and motherhood.
