Mopani West Education is the best in Limpopo

Mopani West Education Circuit is the best-performing and most improved district circuit in Limpopo in last year’s matric results

This is after it obtained an 83.3% pass rate in the 2023 Gr 12 final exams. In 2022, the circuit was third in the district with a 76.7% pass rate. Mogalakwena District is in second place with an 82.6 pass rate, followed by Vhembe East with an 82.5% pass rate. During the announcement of the national awards in Johannesburg, the Minister of Education, Angie Motshekga, applauded the district director of Mopani West, Phillipine Modika, for the achievements.

Nkowankowa Circuit Manager, Doreen Manzini; Thabiso Seerane from St Georges College, attained 300/300 in mathematics and Headmaster of St George College, Joya Varughuese.

The circuit is placed 33rd in the country as a whole. An overjoyed Modika could only say, “God has done it for Mopani West Education District”. Limpopo is the most improved province in the country with an achievement of 79.5%, a 7.4% improvement from 2022. The best independent school in the province is Northern Academy, and the best-performing public special school is Setotolwane Special School. The best-performing ordinary public school is Mbilwi Secondary School.

Mawa Circuit is in first place in the Mopani West district with a 93.5% pass, followed by Tzaneen with a 90% pass, and third is Nkowankowa with 87.2%. Mawa improved by 18.2% from 75.3% in 2022.
