UPDATE: R71 Magoebaskloof still closed for clean-up

The R71 Magoebaskloof is still closed, however, it will be opened again once a low-bed truck has arrived from Polokwane to load the spilled cargo.

The on-scene traffic officials and the clean-up crew have confirmed this.

Yesterday, February 20, a 30-ton truck overturned which caused a diesel spillage on the R71 road to Makgoebaskloof before Mountain Lodge.

Motorists travelling between Polokwane and Tzaneen had to use the R528 Georges Valley road or the R81 towards the R36 Modjadjiskloof.
