Lovedalia’s vibrant voice graces the airwaves

Lovedalia Koko (26) with her soothing voice and vibrant energy is one of the most beloved presenters to grace local airwaves.

She hosts a lifestyle show with Lethabo Selekane between 09:00 and 11:00 every morning from Monday to Friday on PFM. She joined the station in November last year, a breakthrough into the industry after years of struggling to make it as a presenter. “I had to endure years of rejection from different radio stations until God said this is your time to shine. “I used to record videos and audios of myself, acting as a presenter and I would send them to radio stations.

Most times I was rejected, but I did not allow that to deter me from reaching my dream of being behind the mic.” She was born and raised in Bochum outside Polokwane and spent a few years in Tzaneen in Mokgolobotho, before returning to Bochum to take care of her ailing grandmother. She says she loves radio because every day is different, keeping her refreshed and energised.

Her favourite interview was with Dr Piet Warren, affectionately known as Makhoma, after his honorary doctorate from the Unisa a few months ago. Her dream is to one day become a presenter at a commercial radio station and hopefully also work in television. She also works as an MC at events. Her biggest supporters are her father, Thomas Koko, and her friend, Andrew Senyolo, who never allowed her to lose heart. Follow her on Facebook, Lovedalia Tebogo Mahuma, or WhatsApp 065 828 2404.
