Golf course at Fairview receives PGA accreditation

The first monthly medal competition at Fairview’s par 3 golf course sponsored by NTT Isuzu Tzaneen was held recently with 18 players taking on the challenge of this unique course.

From Fairview Golf Resort André Thomas and course manager, Louw Vermeulen, shared the exciting news that the course is now registered with the Professional Golfers Association (PGA) of South Africa and that soon members would be able to register each round played at Fairview and affiliated courses to obtain a handicap. “We’re just waiting to receive our registration from the Limpopo Golf Union and some of the administration to conclude,” says Vermeulen.

The players raised their glasses to the late Uncle Ray Earl that built the course over 18 years and celebrated the excellent condition of the course’s current state under Vermeulen’s watch. In the A-division it was Vermeulen who had the best day, scoring 64. He generously donated his winnings to the fines jar for a round of drinks for the players. Ruan Booysen took second place with a score of 67 and Dave Pelser took third place with 69 points.
