LFPA dispatches choppers to George’s Valley fire

The Letaba Fire Protection Association sent helicopters and a spotter aeroplane to Temby Gardens in George's Valley today.

Rouan Snyman of Letaba Fire Protection Association (LFPA) told the Herald that they have dispatched Chopper HBU, Chopper HHJ and Spotter 5 to assist in getting the fire under control.

“I am now heading there with food and drinks as well as eye drops. The firefighters have been working since the early hours of the day.”

“The fire is less threatening than the Makgoebaskloof one but we have a high fire danger expected for today, so there is a possibility of the fires getting out of hand,” he said

He also confirmed that the fire in Wolkberg is still burning.
