GTM inaugurates new councillors and honours long serving employees

Greater Tzaneen Municipality (GTM) recently inaugurated a new council member, new executive committee members and honoured longserving employees at a council meeting.

During the session, ANC Cllr Doncy Sejaphala replaced former exco member, Cllr Maria Mmola. EFF Clr Sechaba Malatji succeeded Clr Dumisani Malemela who resigned to serve as a member of the Limpopo Provincial Legislature. Additionally, EFF Clr Patrick Ncube replaced Malemela in the GTM.

GTM Mayor Gerson Molapisane also honoured 18 employees for long service. Fifteen employees were recognised for 21 years of service and three for 31 years of service. Molapisane remarked that “their unwavering commitment and hard work have greatly contributed to the municipality’s success and community development”.

In addition, Winnie Baloyi was formally appointed GTM acting director for corporate services until September 30.
