Vossies win Stanford Lake College T20 bash
Ben Vorster High School emerged victorious at Stanford Lake College's annual T20 Bash, topping the round-robin format.
TZANEEN – Stanford Lake College hosted its annual T20 Bash last weekend with Stanfordians, Vossies, Tommies, Plasies and Pieties showing their mettle on the cricket pitch.
The weekend’s fixtures kicked off on Friday afternoon with Stanford Lake College in action against Ben Vorster High School at the Schofield Oval. The Vossies won the match with 74 runs after setting a target of 151/9 for the Stanfordians to chase. Tom Naudé was in action against Merensky on the Hillary Field. The Plasies won the match by 27 runs.
On Saturday the schedule was jam-packed with matches. The Stanfordians took a win against Merensky after setting a target of 106/8.
SLC won a match against PHS by 10 runs. The Vossies took on Merensky, setting a massive target of 222/3. After 20 overs of chasing, the Plasies had to bend the knee with 59/9 on the scoreboard. The Vossies won the match with 163 runs.

SLC was in action against Merensky and won the match by 44 runs after setting a target of 106/8. The Vossies won a match against PHS with eight wickets, after reaching the target of 100 runs in 10.5 overs. They also secured a win against Tom Naudé. The Vossies won the match with 42 runs. Merenksy triumphed over PHS, Merensky won the match by 34 runs.
It was the team from Ben Vorster that ultimately triumphed in the round-robin format. Njabulo Maseko from Ben Vorster High School won the most valuable player award and fellow Vossie, Ruben Pohl was named as the batsman of the tournament.
Wilhelm Brummer (Ben Vorster), HP Roberts (Tom Naudé), Tiaan Haasbroek (Tom Naudé) Aryan Ghelani (SLC), Njabulo Maseko (Ben Vorster) and Luka Heinlein (Merensky) all received player of the match awards.
