Merensky wins T20 Limpopo cricket finals

Merensky Agricultural Academy's cricket team wins SA T20 Limpopo finals by 45 runs, securing provincial championship title.

TZANEEN – Merensky Agricultural Academy’s first cricket team won the South African T20 Limpopo finals with a 45-run victory against Phalaborwa HUB.

The match took place on November 9 at Stanford Lake College.

Merensky scored 121/6 in 20 overs.

Batting standouts were JP Botha with 43 runs off 35 balls, Rinaldo Bornmann with 27 off 21 balls, and Cashan Jacobsz with 15 runs off 9 balls.

Phalaborwa HUB failed to reach the target and was limited to 76 runs in 16.5 innings.

Bornmann took three wickets for 14 runs in 3.5 innings while Xander Schoeman took two wickets for 20 runs in three overs.

Bornmann was named the man of the match. This victory ensures the Plasies’ place as champions of the province.
