SAWC Herding Academy celebrates first 20 professional herders

The Southern African Wildlife College's Herding Academy marks a milestone with its inaugural class of 20 professional herders.

LIMPOPO – Southern African Wildlife College (SAWC) Herding Academy congratulated their first 20 professional herders.

The training provided by SAWC enables communities to improve livelihoods with regards to current pressing issues such as co-existence with wildlife, droughts and fire.

”We are proud to report that these recently trained herders from Kachikau, Chobe Enclave, have gone back to their respective areas and are now volunteering their skills to further the cause of healing land within their grazing area. “They invited farmers to show and educate them as part of community engagement efforts,” SAWC stated on their Facebook page.
