Fauna Park learner earns provincial rugby colours

Titus Magoro (13) becomes the first Fauna Park Primary learner to earn provincial rugby colours, marking a milestone for the school.

PHALABORWA – Titus Magoro (13) has made history at Fauna Park Primary School by becoming the first learner to earn provincial colours in rugby.

On Saturday, May 17, the Gr 7 learner proudly represented the u/13 Limpopo Blue Bulls, marking a major milestone for both him and the school’s growing rugby programme. Magoro’s journey to provincial status was not simple.

He went through three difficult rounds of trials, beginning with the circuit level and progressing through the cluster and district levels before securing his spot at the provincial level.

Although the final selection for the national team has not yet been made, Magoro remains focused and is currently attending regular rugby practices in preparation for what may come next.

He started playing rugby in 2022 when the sport was first introduced at the school. Since then, his passion and dedication have set him apart as a rising star and a true product of the school’s growing rugby program.

The school’s principal, Florina Mamokgere, expressed her pride in Magoro’s achievement:

“I feel very happy to have a learner who represented our school at the provincial level. This is a great achievement, especially since we introduced rugby at our school only three years ago. Learners are allowed to showcase their talents, and Titus has done just that,” she said.
